Statement

My paintings are a response to the spaces I have moved through,

they seek to be free, fluid and sponataneous, portraying a 'sense of'

rather than a representation.

Landscapes etch themselves into my memory leaving visual and

emotional traces that are powerful starting points for my work.

I enjoy walking as an initial experience  as it enables me to reach

quiet and isolated places. I take a sketchbook and make drawings,

which I use as the basis of my paintings. These help me recapture

a feeling of place and the shape and form of the landscape.
